I’m addicted Periscope Film’s YouTube channel and their old Harley-Davidson footage. It’s a gold mine of vintage filmography of H-Ds and military stuff from the 1940s and later. Check out this 20-minute (or so) sales clip of 1950s Panheads, Sportsters, and small hogs.
This was obviously made in the late 1950s since the Sportster wasn’t in production until that time. For you kids out there who don’t know, the Duo Glide evolved from the FL, which was Harley started producing in 1941. Harley-Davidson model line in 1941. The FL model was given a new frame in 1958 that had a rear swingarm suspended by a pair of coil-over-shock suspension units. In honor of this fully suspended chassis, the FL’s model name was changed from Hydra-Glide to Duo-Glide.
That’s the sort of thing you find on YouTube if you know where to look. For more information you can also visit http://www.PeriscopeFilm.com.
