Chicago J&P Cycles Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show Winners Announced

The Progressive International Motorcycle Shows (IMS) announced the winners of the final round of the 2018-2019 J&P Cycles Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show (UBCBS), which took place in Chicago last weekend, alongside the championship round.
Now in its ninth year, UBCBS is an elite-level custom motorcycle builder competition featuring hundreds of builders across the IMS tour, cultivating the custom scene and offering builders a chance at thousands in cash and prizes across the tour, including a Harley-Davidson motor, a pair of Arlen Ness wheels, an HMC lift, Michelin tires and more. The competition was held at all seven stops on the IMS tour and the championship round took place February 17 in Chicago, Illinois.
The winners of the UBCBS at IMS Chicago are as follows:
Freestyle:

Winner: Wayne Burgess and painter Connery’s Paint won $1,000 and a plaque with a 2015 Shovelhead Digger, featuring aluminum cylinders, integrated front and rear brakes with proportioning valve, custom tail light, twisted iron shifter, belt and chain guard, spurder forks and 12-point copper plated hardware.

Dell Sportster board tracker
Runner-Up: Battle Dell with Dangerous Dezigns/HBC and painter Brad H Design won a plaque with a 1991 Harley-Davidson Sportster, hosting a board tracker.

Custom Retro:

Winner: Timothy Scates and painted Czar at MasterMind Designs won $750 and a plaque with a 1972 Moto Guzzi El Dorado 850, featuring a springer front end, custom frame made into a hard tail Bobber, Peanut tank, ribbed rear fender, Up-Sweep exhaust, gloss black paint with custom old school gold graphics and engraved parts and inserts.

1976 yamaha xs 650
Runner-Up: Austin Andrella with Austin Martin Originals and painter FT Customs/Hamilton Design Company won a plaque with a 1976 Yamaha XS 650. The motorcycle featured an AMO frame, 138-cycle fab knee action girder, AMO handlebars, AMO fender struts, matching 21-inch wheels, 277 rephased motor with 700cc JE forged pistons, Barnett clutch plates and springs, barebones leather seat, AMO gas tank and air box.

Custom Street:
2004 hayabusa custom
Winner: Juan Rodriguez won $750 and a plaque with a 2004 Suzuki Hayabusa, featuring a 300 fat tire kit, custom paint with airbrushing, LED lights, front and rear air suspension, molded front windscreen, custom front fender, polish frame, custom front rotor, chrome everywhere, plexiglass grade bar with LED lights and custom seats.

Runner-Up: Keith Castellano with Distant Brothers and painted Gator won a plaque with a 2016 Ducati Panigale 959, fully torn down with the frame, subframe, exhaust, and engine painted black and backlit Ducati branding and matte-white plastics.

Custom Harley-Davidson:

Winner: David Dupor and painter Paul Boeckman / Kallemyn won $750, a $250 Harley-Davidson gift card and a plaque with a 2006 Harley-Davidson Springer Softail Sidecar, hosting a DD Custom Cycle steel tank, steel dash, DD Custom Cycle steel fenders, DD Custom Cycle Ghost bars, K-Tech controls, Liberty sidecar, Kens Factoring lighting, tons of detail, one-off spoke wheels with soft lips and a Stroker motor.

2015 Harley-Davidson Sportster
Runner-Up: Austin Vann won a $100 Harley-Davidson gift card and a plaque with a 2015 Harley-Davidson Sportster, hosting a modern twist on a boardtracker, custom paint and powder coat, 23-inch intro wheels, custom made exhaust and stretched swingarm, RSD intake, Harley-Davidson bars, a retro seat and Joker pegs.

People’s Choice:

Winner: Bryant Levant with Bryant ‘Bhatmon’ Levant won a $100 J&P Cycles gift card, a Bell C500 and a plaque with a 1971 VW Trike, featuring Bhatmon and Robin replica, LED light system sound system and a .50 cal replica.

Best Chopper:

Winner: Dan Dziuban with Chi-South Customs won a U Koala Bag and a plaque with a special construction motorcycle, featuring a one-off custom military theme.

K&N Garage Builder:

Winner: Steven Shubert with Shubert Custom Cycles and painter Psychotic Air won a $500 K&N Garage gift card with a 2006 Harley-Davidson Road King, hosting a one-off internal twist hydraulic clutch, an internal twist brake/throttle, one-off buttons flush inside the handlebars, one-off modified frame with one-off steel chin spoiler, one-off tank with an iPad in the dash that controls the audio and navigation.

Best Street Bike:

Winner: Angel Perez with Motorcycle Mania Chicago and painter Kona Chris won a U Koala Bag and a plaque with a 2007 Yamaha Warrior, featuring an air ride, custom paint, Airtech bodywork, custom bars and controls, a custom seat cover by Plzbeseated, belt-to-chain conversion and a custom sprocket cover.

Best Bagger:
DA Performance Road King
Winner: Charles Conrick with DA Performance and painter Polen Designs won a U Koala bag and a plaque with a 2009 Harley-Davidson Road King featuring a 100 percent one-off clear wheel.
